About the Art & Process:
Intaglio: Etching, Aquatint & Dry Point; Chine Collé
Shanti's art is an effort to organize the chaos of her memories and give substance to the ephemeral. She is interested in visually interpreting objects and places, as well as the more obscure elements of experience -sound, motion, light, tactile and emotional sensation- and filtering them through her own lens. By rendering them into the physical, she can control them, she is given the time and the patience to make sense of the images and conversely, of her memories and experiences.
